Mascara Review: The Face Shop Freshian Volumizing Mascara
I recently bought a tube of The Face Shop's Freshian Volumizing Mascara (The Face Shop is a Korean brand) from their store in Glorietta. I've read so many great reviews about this and my really close friend T, swears by it. One time, she left her humongous make up bag at home and had to borrow my mascara. When she was digging through my stash and found out I didn't have any TFS mascara, she said she'd rather go mascara-less.
For the longest time I've used Clinique mascaras [the grandma influenced me on this, in fact she never uses anything other than Clinique], L'oreal [the line I forgot but it's been discontinued], Fasio 3D Airtech Mascara [but you bet it's so hard to remove], and most recently L'oreal's Telescopic Clean. To be honest, though I liked how "clean" LTC was, I didn't think it does anything at all for the lashes, it might as well be clear.
Moving on, I did purchase Freshian the other day and had to try it -- the next day, of course.
The product says: For long, lush lashes ,clean, natural looking lashes without any clumping
Here's a photo of my eyes, the one with, and the other without the mascara.
As you can see, I have non-existent eyelashes in real life. Heh :) But after 3 coats of TFS' Freshian Mascara, I look like a decent person. Just like Nikki, I have chinky eyes and it's so tough making them appear bigger. :(
What I liked:
- Doesn't sting [some mascaras do sting]
- Volumizes and does a little lengthening
- No drug-like scent
- Relatively cheap at Ps. 275.00 approximately USD 5.50
- Minimal clumping
- Not tough to look for if you live in Metro Manila. TFS is fast becoming available in most malls already
What I didn't like:
- I had smudges of mascara come 4PM. I don't know if I should blame the mascara for this because I did drop Eye Mo on my eyes at noon.
- But then again, I don't think it is waterproof :(
- Tube looks so generic
- Just a little lenghtening is what I experienced. Though it did say it was a Volumizing Mascara (bonks self on the head)
Am I gonna buy this again? Hmm. Let me think about it :) I am wanting to try out some stuff from Make up Forever and Paul & Joe. Speaking of which...
I dropped by Rustan's last Friday while waiting for TBF and here's the only item I was able to buy because TBF was already there.
Paul & Joe lipstick in # 19! I wasn't able to test some other stuff out because I'm particular with testing out lipsticks.I've been wanting to buy a new lipstick since summer hit Manila and I was able to do this last Friday. Yay! RJ, the SA who assisted me was very nice to point out that the one I originally liked washed out my features, so she recommended this instead. I want to mention as well that P & J SAs, or at least the one I encountered are very helpful and nice, well, as opposed to another SA I encountered. Erm, who is from another makeup brand available in Rustans' as well.
As for the lippy, I only tested it the night I bought it and haven't used it together with any other e/s I would suppose match with it. Have any suggestions? :)
Anyhoo, let me share my FOTD for last casual Friday :P
