Beauty Blogger Christmas 2014

Happy Tuesday, my dearest readers!

I'm taking a breather from the Christmas crazies happening left and right to share with you one of my favorite festivities this season: our Christmas party with the girls of beauty blogging. If there's anything at all that I've been lucky to have, it's becoming friends with these super fun, funny, kind people I know from blogging. Life would've been entirely different if I didn't meet them!

Roll Call: Sabs, Martha, Angela, Rowena, Me, Liz, Sophie, Shen, Nikki, Marj, Nicole and Julia. We're missing Jheng, Dang and Phoebe!

After some moments of deliberation, and the offer of Nest and our beauty guru, Nicole, we ended up at Nest, an up and coming roofdeck restaurant at the top of W Tower. It was overlooking Taguig City and its beautiful cityscape.

I normally don't blog about my Fort foodie eats --- I like eating at them, I don't like being too mainstream about them though. For Nest though, and its neighbor, which I like very much (Black Sheep), I'll make an exception.

Spiced Sweet Potato | PHP 200 Just the right saltiness, right carb taste and extremely filling. I must've eaten a plate-ful of this!

Five Spice Pork Belly, PHP 250 Kurobuta Pork Belly, Soy and Garlic Noodle, Sesame Cucumber Relish. I loved the soft pork {in real life, would just be three pieces}, but the real winner for me were the noodles. They were nutty, garlicky and overall just savory. I came back a day after to have this dish again.

Overall: I find that Nest, being an adventurous type of cuisine with its complicated dishes, is actually value for money. My favorite dish would be the five spiced roast pork belly, the chocolate textures dish with the pop rocks and the cocktails were pretty decent. I had the

Off White Russian and the Sexy and I Know It drink and both were not disappointing at all.

Sabs got me for exchange gift and she gave me the most perfect gift: an apron with ruffles from H&M Home and a starter cookbook. To those who don't know, Sabs is actually a chef!
