Life at the Time of Corona Virus Pt. 1
We’re at (officially) week 3 of the enhanced community quarantine in Manila, week 4 for me cos I have been working from home a week before everyone else due to coughs (I’m fine now) and so far I haven’t gone crazy yet. Social media is awash with dalgona coffee, recipes and workout videos and it’s nice to connect with some people I haven’t talked to in a while. I’m happy to report I have cleaned items I’ve been meaning to clean and my desk is clear again. Life is strange nowadays - a video said it might take a while for people to normally travel. I am sad that my annual Bali plans are obviously not happening and very sad that Alanis Morrisette’s concert is not happening this week (sometime this year, it seems!).
Where I live most days
Life is strange — in this lifetime I can say I experienced the following:
Only 1 person can go out per household
Wearing masks, protective shields
Being at home for 1 month straight. I am glad to have Mike as my quarantine partner and my two boys!
Everybody does thing online including schools.
There’s a curfew — 8PM to 5AM.
No parks, no malls, no operations. The world actually slowed down.
How I’m Coping (other than cutting my bangs or baking bread)
Coursera Courses. Might as well learn something new. I’m currently on a course called Psychological First Aid. This one from MoMa is my next.
Netflix. Who am I kidding? I just watch stuff after work and working out every weeknight. So far I’ve finished Tiger King, Crash Landing on You, Ozark and now I’m on Community.
Speaking of working out, I’ve been following Heather Robertson’s workouts. Her videos don’t have too much talking.
I hope you’re safe, healthy and sane where you are. Sending you much love.
