Shell Helix Hot Summer Shots Mechanics

The contest is open to amateur photographers in the Philippines, DSLR and digital point-and-shoot users alike.

Entries should be in color, must be in JPEG (.jpg) format and may not exceed a file size of one megabyte (1mb).

The contest duration is from March 8 to May 31, 2008.

To submit an entry: visit www.readygetshellgo.com to access the contest entry page. Complete the online entry form.
Follow the directions on how to upload your photo entry.
Photos must have a resolution of 100 dpi or 7 x 5.5 inches. Only minor enhancement of photographs is allowed (brightness and contrast, sharpening, levels).
Each entry must be submitted with complete details that will contain the contestant's information, as well as details of the photograph (where and when it was taken).
Entries will be subjected to a screening process and upon acceptance will be published in this website.
Submissions that are deemed by the judges in their sole discretion to be unfit or unacceptable for publication will be disqualified.
All entries are considered Shell property and may be used by Shell, and likewise cannot be featured in other contests, publications, advertisements, exhibits, and other printed or digital media.
All entries must be original and have not been published or exhibited in any printed or online media prior to the contest.
All entries must feature your own car, pick up, or SUV/AUV in a refreshing setting, location or mood in any of the following categories: nature, action, travel or humor. Photo must be taken from March 8, 2008 until May 31, 2008.
From March 8, 2008 to May 31, 2008, the pictures of the finalists will be displayed in this website.
There will be four (4) winners for this contest. Prizes are: one (1) iPod Shuffle, one (1) Kodak digital camera, and two (2) Shell Helix Ultra Oil Change Package.
Winners will be chosen and announced on June 16, 2008 at Shell House and will be published in this website.
A participant can only win once. All winners will be notified via registered mail.
Winners can claim their prize (within a 90-day period after receipt of notification) in their nearest Shell Helix Service Centre.

Criteria for Judging
Originality – 30%
The idea of the photo should be fresh and interesting.
The photo should be unique from other photos.
Aesthetics – 40%
The photo should be mind-blowing or has impact.
Relevance to the theme – 30%

The Photo should show your car out on a summer road trip in a refreshing setting or showing the beautiful places you are going to enjoy the summer featuring nature, action, travel or humor.
