Things I Love Sundays: Art and Life and Surprises

"You gotta let life surprise you sometimes."

It was a Friday night and I got to hang out with a friend whom I started knowing some nine years ago as my boss. We didn't have plans except hang out, spend the night catching up on things, update each other of these things that have been happening and marvel at it all. Despite how some of it have been happening quite a while, it still comes as a surprise how interesting life turns out.

"My guess is that we're over that phase, you know," she said after quite a time, when we've dissected a huge chunk of both our lives unraveled in the last two, three months maybe. This friend and I have been through many a challenging time, but more good than bad. And somehow, I recognize that we were in the middle of a good run. We cheered in silence with our Friday night chardonnay. And while it had been a challenging week, couldn't help but think of how grateful I am to have gotten this far, with the strength I never would've had in my younger days.

Started the week with learning + hanging out with people smarter than me. Always a winning combo.

But just learning makes Tara boring, so I spent some of my week in the presence of lovely people at the Happy Skin x Liz Uy launch. Check out my post about it tomorrow!

In a world that's trying to make you think of so much, it was just spectacular to spend an afternoon being myself, being carefree, being able to make decisions on my own, laugh when I can, listen to music when I can.

How lucky I am to have a friend who writes my name in calligraphy. Thanks, S!

Alice in Wonderland | Was able to drop by Art Fair in The Link in Makati for two weekends and it was just amazing. There were more people now, more than ever, and I'm so glad that the art scene in the PH is booming!

The newest addition to my book collection is one of the best things this weekend. I had been raring to travel but jumping on a plane to London is kind of not in the super immediate plans {I wanna go tomorrow!!!!} so what does one do, right? Bring travel, Banksy and London to me. I am a happy girl :)

And if you ever have the time, catch this gem of a local film, That Thing Called Tadhana. So much better than English Only, Please :)

Happy week ahead, my darlings! I hope life surprises you well this week, too!
