Things I Love Sundays: Thriving in May
It’s almost the end of May - can you believe it? So much has happened once again in the Philippines and in the world and my head is swirling as I think about it all. In a nutshell, I think life is going well, I feel energized and I feel like I have enough balance across my priorities: family, career/business/professional life, social life, fitness and myself.
Winning at Life
So far, this May, I am proud to have exercised my civic rights - of which was to vote, and for the best candidates I believe in, too. They are not going to win but I wouldn’t have done otherwise.
Celebrated Mothers’ Day with my puppies by taking them out and also watching a local musical with Mike. Ang Huling El Bimbo is a nice nostalgic throwback to our generation’s music of Eraserheads — it can be quite disturbing but still a great watch.
Shake Shack finally opened in MNL, yay! I was lucky to be part of the opening party and didn’t need to line up for the burgers. I have not eaten Shake Shack before this at all. I like the burgers and the shakes even more. I love it that they have PH-only desserts and a DOG MENU! <3 Hooray!
My puppy, Puffins, completed his Obedience Class! If you’re interested, Bark Central in Eastwood sometimes hold puppy school in their branch in Eastwood. I also buy Tiger Sugar while waiting for Puff Puff to finish.
Game of Thrones is down to its last episode forever, tomorrow. It’s the end of an era, I don’t think any show has been the subject of so much engagement as much as GOT does, even to people who don’t watch it. LOL. But I watch it and I cry every episode so yeah, you know I ain’t part of that 1% :P
I am thoroughly inspired by Melinda Gates’ book, Moment of Lift. Read my full discourse here.
I am super proud to have been invited to a book launch by quite possibly the most successful female entrepreneur of our generation, Rissa Mananquil-Trillo.Long before this book was released, I’ve already been a big fan of a woman who gets to have it all: a family, a business, a modeling and leadership background, an enviable network and executive education at AIM. Now that she has a book, she gets to share her wisdom to more women and therefore inspiring us all for more women-founded businesses forward. So thrilled to also share that I’m giving away a copy in my Women Who Win Facebook group and WWW Instagram! If you’re from the Philippines, please join!
In very important news, LOL, I am happy to have watched all the shows I usually watch weekly: Grey’s Anatomy (sob, season finale, sob), The Big Bang Theory, even more sob, Jane the Virgin and my ultimate, The Bold Type! If like me, you enjoy popcorn while watching, I highly recommend Taters via Foodpanda or making your own using Red Mill kernels from Healthy Options and dusting it with parmesan or nutritional yeast!
