New on my Vanity Table
Hello, ladies! I just got back from the nice city of Cagayan de Oro {again!} and my body is begging for more sleep but as always, I retreat to blogging for my much-needed break from working. My head still hurts from lack of sleep and from the weird weather {hot in the morning and super rainy in the evening} plus I've had a few break outs because of a facial wash {Celeteque}, which seemed not for me.
So anyway, as I've said, I was off to a business trip last Wednesday. But before heading off into the airport, I attended a very low-key and private launch for Pond's newest baby: Pond's Pure White Deep Cleansing Facial Foam with Activated Carbon.
It has been a while since I've used a Pond's facial wash. During high school and a little of college, I know I've been incredibly loyal with Pond's {primarily because the tubes were pink and they smelled so clean} but growing up and having money to experiment with every other brand coming out in the market, Pond's seem to have lost its contact with my vanity table.
Until the beginning of August, when I purchased this month's issue of Cosmopolitan, I saw there was a sample of this little black facial wash so I tried it and guess what: It actually works.
The first time I tried it was the morning my T70 was stolen. That day that preceded that included: five hours at the Salcedo Market, four hours in Bugsy's Makati, five hours at UP Manila critiquing young writers' editorials and finally at Republiq, Resorts World, where said camera was lost. Imagine the dirt and the grime :|
And so after I used shu uemura's cleansing oil, I lathered on a pinch-sized squirt from the trial size. My observations were:

And so after I used shu uemura's cleansing oil, I lathered on a pinch-sized squirt from the trial size. My observations were:
- It's silver-gray, not black. It would've been a toss between cool and scary had it been matte black.
- It smells not girly enough. In fact, it smells masculine at some point but maybe it's just me. I really don't mind scented products, as long as it doesn't smell like Drakkar or Brut, I'm fine with it.
- It lathers up pretty crazily. And I love it! The predecessor of this product, Celeteque, which broke me out, was unbelievably not bubbly enough. This one foams up so well I almost did not notice I've been soaping my face for five minutes already!
- The after feel is amazing. You know how you have that feeling as soon as you wash of the lather off your face and your skin feels warm, soft, super clean and not tight at all and you just want to touch your skin over and over? Pond's {at least this variant} does just that.
- Does. Not. Break. Me. Out. I've been using this for more almost a week now {twice a day} and yes, no breakouts!
- My male friends are actually intrigued with this product! When I saw them last night, I gave them samples and they love it!
That's the black "inked" water we filtered after adding activated carbon.
