It Girls and State of Grace

I'd been reading Cosmo's January issue in bed the other day when I saw that this one featured It Girl,

Taylor Swift

. Another day before that, I saw some people tweet about Taylor being like local celebrity, Maja Salvador, who rotates dating with guys like how they'd switch toothbrushes.

Now, I never really comment on Hollywood News, moreso local news but reading through Cosmo's interview of Taylor saying Huffington Post wrote that she probably dates these boys {John Mayer, Harry Styles, Taylor Lautner, among others} intentionally so she can write about it through a song, I was a bit confuzzled. When Cosmo asked whether she'd still date a guy who would ask her not to write about him, this was her response:

He has to give me a reason not to write about him.

I then decided that I liked her --- for standing up to her values and principles and so what if she writes about these boys? I write about ex flames, too, just in my diary though. =P And I bet every single girl has, at one point in her life, wrote something cryptic in public about an ex. It could be her age, after all she just stepped into her 20s and you know how different we all are in our 20s.

After reading her interview, I got myself a copy of her entire RED album, where the carrier single was something that turned me off initially, "We're never ever getting back together." Beyond that, all her songs were catchy, positive, very uplifting and is rhythmically of girl power.

As it is kinda obvious, here's my favorite song from her

RED

album which I'm almost always listening to:

I'm walking fast through the traffic lights

Busy streets and busy lives

And all we know, is touch and go

We are alone with our changing minds

We fall in love 'til it hurts or bleeds or fades in time

And I never (never) saw you coming

And I'll never (ever) be the same

You come around and the armor falls

Pierce the room like a cannon ball

Now all we know is don't let go

We are alone, just you and me

Up in your room and our slates are clean

Just twin fire signs, four blue eyes

So you were never a saint

And I’ve loved in shades of wrong

We learn to live with the pain

Mosaic broken hearts

But this love is brave and wild

And I never (never) saw you coming

And I'll never (ever) be the same

This is a state of grace

This is the worthwhile fight

Love is a ruthless game

Unless you play it good and right

These are the hands of fate

You're my Achilles heel

This is the golden age of something good and right and real

And I never (never) saw you coming

And I'll never (ever) be the same

And I never (never) saw you coming

And I'll never (ever) be the same

This is a state of grace

This is the worthwhile fight

Love is a ruthless game

Unless you play it good and right
