Simone, Salon Beauvoir and a Dose of Fusio Dose

First of all: Happy New Year!

Sometime in during one of those lazy, listless afternoons that I've been reading a favorite blog, I came across Why French Women Don't Burn Out by Rachel Hills and instantly, I was sitting upright in my bed and suddenly, I was all eyes.

A famous activist and French writer, Simone de Beauvoir was famous for her daily routine:

I'm always in a hurry to get going, though in general I dislike starting the day. I first have tea and then, at about ten o'clock, I get under way and work until one. Then I see my friends and after that, at five o'clock, I go back to work and continue until nine. I have no difficulty in picking up the thread in the afternoon. When you leave, I'll read the paper or perhaps go shopping. Most often it's a pleasure to work.

I immediately felt some sort of kinship as I am known to take bursts of BGC walks in the afternoon, sometimes to get some Chez Karine, a red velvet cupcake or a nice book at Fully Booked. It always makes me feel like I'm outside looking in so THAT takes off the friction one gets from working and familiarity and therefore, just like Simone, makes work such a pleasure.

Though it was a Sunday when we had gone to Salon Beauvoir, I couldn't help but think it could've easily been a midday rendezvous --- it was after all with a great girl friend, Shen.

I hadn't seen Shen for a while and at that time, I just had my hair colored. While it was fabulously, gloriously red, I was battling serious dryness and stiff hair. Shen's invitation to come with her to Salon Beauvoir, at the Somerset Olympia, was just perfect.

Baroque interiors makes me wonder if Simone did pass through this at all. Who knows?

 Easily, Salon Beauvoir was Pinterest-worthy.

Pastel-colored doors led to private waxing and treatment rooms.

My treatment for the day: Kerastase's Fusio Dose, which promises a revitalized head of hair.

Much like salon treatments, Fusio Dose makes use of small vials which are applied on to the hair for about 20 minutes. The result is pretty instant and lasts up to 3 weeks, at least for me. In my case, two vials were used: one for restoring hair from erosion and another was for maintaining my color.

Plus points for using this --- a pre blow dry elixir that preserves the hair moisture, making it healthy.

It's automatic that I'll be going back to straight hair, at least for a day, whenever I'm at a salon.

On top of Fusio Dose, I opted for foot spa and manicure.

Isn't it nice that the bottles are arranged via color?

Say hello to {straight} healthy hair. I now swear by this Fusio Dose thing.

I couldn't resist! That chair is mighty luxe.

With my salon BFF and partner in crime, Shenny, with her newly-digipermed hair. Read her chronicles  here.

One of these days, when I feel like making like Simone, you know where I'll be making a beeline for.
