Chronicles of Foundations: Bobbi Brown Extra Bright Foundation Review

Is it just me but OMG, it's freaking hot.

One of the things I remembered when we had a Beauty Social for BDJ Box is when a lovely bella asked how to prevent foundation from sliding off during the summer and my fellow BDJ Beauty minister Barbi reminded us to stick to powder and forget about liquid foundations for the season to prevent make up from a hulas situation.

Thankfully, and just apt for the season, this new brightening compact from Bobbi Brown came in and it's just perfect two reasons a) I am much tanner now, thanks Ocean Potion and b) I am considering not putting anything on my face because of the weather and the powder is just fitting.

The white packaging of Bobbi is completely refreshing and brightening, indeed.

Bobbi’s secret to looking flawlessly fresh all day — Extra Bright Powder Compact SPF 25 PA+++ delivers even and luminous skin in one simple step. Especially formulated in Japan and tested on Asian skin, Bobbi ensured that this foundation delivers natural looking, shine-free coverage, even through extreme heat and humidity.

Oh, Bobbi. I love you for doing that.

Anyway, the makeup expert at the Bobbi Brown launch recommended I get Warm Beige so it is a bit dark in photos. In a way, she was forward looking too because it's summer and all I do is stay under the sun anyway, causing me to tan!

It looks tan here but I promise it's really luminous :)

Face: Bobbi Brown Extra Bright Foundation in Warm Natural

What I Love About this foundation:

  • Oh, oh, love at first swipe! I had no feelings over this foundation because I've never tried powder foundation by Bobbi but oh wow, it felt luxurious and it didn't cake on me.
  • I only needed very little. The golden rule is to not apply foundation all over the face, just the spots where you need coverage.
  • Classy compact. I have an issue with tacky-looking compacts but this one is completely classy in white. So beautiful!
  • Long-lasting. The photo above was taken around 3 PM when I had to go outside and drive under the hot sun. I think it held up pretty well.

How To Use: After cleansing and moisturizing skin, use a Powder Brush or the accompanying sponge to apply evenly over face, starting at the forehead, nose, and chin, then working outwards.

Available in 7 shades: Warm Ivory, Sand, Warm Sand, Beige, Warm Beige, Natural, Warm Natural

Overall: I love this foundation and this made me retire a bit my Ellana Minerals foundation {shade complication and all}. It's available at all Bobbi Brown counters at Rustan's and standalone store at SM Megamall at PHP 2,800.
