Things I Love Sundays: You Live, You Learn
I would always want to remember this part of life when I look back in the future to this day when I took a moment of my day, watched artists perform Alanis Morrissette’s songs online for Jagged Little Pill, a musical I had planned on watching this fall. I still don’t know if I can already travel then but I just spent several minutes crying in front of my laptop.
In my head, Alanis reflected how I felt back in the 90s — angsty and questioning of the ways of the world. And in many ways, the Alanis now (crystal toting, oil sniffing) is somewhat reflective of how I’ve become. Not very much motherly as she is now but to me, she represents a story of redemption and happiness and character development though I’m very much aware she’s a real person worthy of all of good things. Especially for the You Learn song, it’s like all of the mistakes of the world became worthy of their presence in my life.
The live performance was not at all like the online plays which shared the entire performance for a couple of days. I don’t think JLP is ready to do that since they’ve only started late last year. But as a true fan {who has tickets waiting for her in NYC), I reserve myself the right to enjoy it live for the first time when the time comes.
Other things I am loving this week:
That’s me and my classmates at an onboarding class. Fun times! Literally learned a lot of things.
Normal People.
Cake. Sushi Bake. Eating.
Happy another week in quarantine, everyone!
