A Review of Three Local Athleisure Brands

Anybody gotten into a bit of athleisure rabbit hole like? sips wine Yup? Yes, you’re not alone!

Those above are my holy grail fitness / athleisure brands Alo Yoga and Outdoor Voices — but since international shipping is not very favorable right now due to the pandemic, I would also rather support local businesses before I fork over my money to another country. That said, here are the three athleisure brands I’ve been rotating usage with the past few weeks:

  • DAYTODAY Athleisure. Everybody I know on IG and their grandma is probably decked in this much hyped locally-designed brand (though produced in China as says so in its tags). I guess all that hype is for good reason because so far, my order and wear experience with DTD has been very pleasurable. For one, they have a simple website that’s easy to add to cart, easy to choose and appreciate colors, easy to understand the size guide and payment options are quite diverse including Paypal and bank deposit. During the time I ordered, they still allowed pickups which made me able to have my orders picked up next day. I only have two types of their portfolio: The High Shot sports bra and the Risk Taker shorts, but both in 3 colors. I do want to say though how extremely pleased I was with those items, as all of the stuff I bought from them was pretty easy to wear, comfortable to the skin and has minimal riding up the leg. If my fitness drawer wasn’t bursting at the seams, I would definitely order some more!

  • THE PEACH COMPANY. I was itching to have shorts for workout this summer and The Peach Company had stocks of their sets, I happily settled with a pink and black set of the Impulse bra and shorts. Both are pretty good — that much is ok. It’s not as soft and can be a bit itchy or uncomfortable. I also don’t like that the bra cups are not divided by a stitch in the middle so sometimes the cups can cross over the other side. Overall though, it’s still a great set that does the job when doing HIIT exercises and weights.

  • ATSUI. I’ve had several pieces from Atsui for some time now like maybe 2+ years. I first saw them on my friend’s wife and they looked very sturdy and true enough, pretty good pieces of clothing. I have several tops from them, names of which I’ve forgotten now. I recall having pretty good experience ordering and I almost always get my orders in time. For now though, they seemed to have wiped off their website so I’m not sure when they’re returning.
