Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Movie
Last Thursday night, the gang [me, R, C and T] trooped over to Greenbelt 3 to watch this. As we entered the theater, one can see that it really is a girls-night-out-kind of movie, everyone was with their girlfriends, and I can barely spot a guy.
I'd have to give this movie 2 thumbs and 2 toes up. It was hilarious and funny and it made me laugh the whole time!
During the scene when Becky's shopping rehab guide gave away her Barney's dress, I literally welled up and almost cried. No matter how many times I try to deny, I just can't hide the fact that I am another shopaholic who can relate to Becky.
Some details I noticed:
1. The screenwriters injected a "childhood-deprivation" issue.
2. Tarkie is HOT! I never imagined him to be that hot in the books!
3. Suze is royalty. Um, never showed any signs in the movie though.
4. Becky was a shopaholic to the core. She shopped EVERYTHING, from cookbooks, to cutlery, to spices, to stationery. Of course shoes, bags and clothes but the movie was limited to that.
5. Luke Brandon never worked for Successful Savings.

But despite all these [and some I didn't write], the movie is HELLA FUNNY.
If you haven't watched it, well, try to. It may not be soul-moving but I guarantee you'll get a good laugh with it.
[wth happened to my writing?!]
