Career Woman Diaries: Eau de Lacoste Pour Femme
There is this bottle I've been saving up for those days when I feel neither fruity nor strong. For so many days, I've been trying to grasp that word, a phrase, a vibe I usually attach to scents.
Like everything else in my life, I am now down to more subdued, understated colors, and now, scents. I love it that things can appear simplistic and minimal. I believe that is how I feel with my new favorite fragrance:
Honestly, I don't have much experience with Lacoste {except for A Touch of Pink} --- not even with their apparel because they are pretty expensive. I've always drooled over the classic pique shirt but I just couldn't find the heart to fork out big bucks for it. If you're familiar with that shirt, that had been the inspiration for this fragrance and I think it does a good job in interpreting a visual.
There's something in the simplicity of white things ---- and in this case, of such common sight such as a shirt. But sometimes, it's the simple things that we are looking for, yes?
Top notes:
White pineapple, mandarin and bergamot {which the folks from Lacoste made us sniff separately}
Middle notes: Sambac jasmine, orange blossom and pineapple blossom
Base notes: sandalwood, peru balsam, vetiver and vanilla
Overall: The Lacoste Eau de Lacoste is pretty much your standard fare of office-safe fragrance --- attractive but not cloying to the nose. It is among the ranks of
Lanvin Eclat D'arpege, Chanel Chance and DKNY Light Blue, which are both classic scents which evoke that 'desire' for more of that. It's so light one is always found to be sniffing for more. The ambassador of Eau de Lacoste, Amy Adams, couldn't have been a more perfect fit.
While many may find Lacoste Eau de Lacoste, I've found myself saving it up for many a special day {always a scent of choice for those days I want to be subtly noticeable}. You can say it's one of my favorite scents that lives in the door of my fridge, along with its reserves. It's a beautiful scent, one that evokes one wearing a crisp white shirt and casual boyfriend jeans.
Would I recommend this? If you are the kind who likes sweet, slightly floral, clean scents, this is perfect for you as it is for me right now.
