The Scent of Youth: Lolita Lempicka L'Eau Jolie

Oh, to be young, wild and free!

When I was 18, I finally learned to ride a bike. Years upon years, I only biked when it had wheels in the sides {loser, I know} because I was afraid my legs will get scars, which did eventually, when I played basketball and football. But I did learn how to bike at 18 {learned to drive an SUV at 17} and it is one of the most wonderful feelings in the world.

There isn't nothing like biking through your village, going through humps and bumps, passing by fellow kids playing in the streets, running around, teasing everybody, blowing out gumamela bubbles and plastic balloons. By the afternoon, our yaya would have us eat the usual merienda fare of noodles and bread and milk or orange juice. Looking back now, I kind of miss the simplicity of the youthful life when life was all about easy subjects, crushes, intramurals and Sweet Valley.

But I digress. The point, again, of this entire post, was how a simple scent could trigger so many memories, in this case, is Lolita Lempicka's L'Eau Jolie.

It is no doubt, the scent of youth, especially with its muse being the beautiful young lady that is Elle Fanning.

The top notes are blackcurrant and nashi pear, sprinkled with violet leaf. A round bouquet then releases elegant notes of neroli, peony and peach blossom. The base notes: musk, cedar and sandalwood bring warmth to this subtle elixir, which does not overwhelm the senses, but delicately stirs them. Seduction is inevitable yet subtle.

 Thoughts on L'eau Jolie by Lolita Lempicka:

• From the carrier bag, to the press folder, to the apple-shaped bottle, there's no way one cannot find L'Eau Jolie {French word for pretty} very adorable. The notes of peach blossom is what I remember the most, what my nose smells the most.
• Unlike its older sister L de Lolita Lempicka though, L'Eau Jolie smells like a much simpler lady, child even, if you wish. The former was more iconic and unique and as whimsical as L'Eau Jolie smells, it's not as remarkably different.
• The bottle, inspired by an apple, is fantastically designed, though.
• L'Eau Jolie is available in 30 mL and 50 mL

Overall: You know those days when you just feel like wearing a tutu to the office? That's the feeling.
