2017 Beauty Favorites
Funnily enough, the year I have blogged the least has been the year I've been quite serious about upping my beauty game. That's not to say I feel like I'm 10x prettier but I feel like 2017 was a year I'd really gone beyond my comfort zone and truly made effort on my skincare, detox, my fitness regime, regular brow wax appointments, hair styling game. You name it, except cosmetic procedures, I've most likely done something remotely next to it.
My mornings are pretty much my beautifying times and at night, I stick to a fool proof routine because I am most likely tired and ready to crash. This year as well was the year of chok chok skin and therefore, glassy, bouncy skincare that just radiates glow. On the makeup front, I think highlighters were the biggest trend that swept the beauty world. Nevertheless, here's my little humble list on what made my year 2017 in beauty:
CosRX Favorites, the AHA Whitehead Power Liquid was MY holy grail and the Benefit Porefessional primer were my staples, especially when I need my makeup to stay all day until evening.
Happy Skin's Bye Bye Blues has been my all time favorite underye concealer that I ran out of this almost immediately haha! And of course, Happy Skin's sunblock is a staple for everyday use!
Pink Sugar Tints and my Panasonic Facial Steamer are the best!
Ichikami shampoo and conditioner, Cathy Doll Nude Me Lipsticks, Benefit Boi Ing for the light concealer feels and Cargo Swimmable eyeshadows because we need those in this life.
My HG nail polish: Happy Skin Gel Yeah in Achiever, 23.5 N masks and Benefit Brow products
A big shoutout to Drunk Elephant because I have never gotten so much compliments on skin until I have religiously used Drunk Elephant even if most days I don't recognize it or at least I don't ponder about it.
It's my favorite 2017 Beauty Find, everyone: the Drunk Elephant Babyfacial removes the dullest skin ever!
Jessie J's collab with Make Up For Ever Highlighter in Champagne is just my forever love. Another shoutout for Drunk Elephant, Smashbox's Holiday collection and Clarins Turmeric serum just makes the millennial in me very happy.
Breakthrough performance by Glossier's Cloud Paint in Haze. I was really very hesitant because a lot of people said it was only good for people who had good skin and I typically don't have good chemistry with such products. However, I used this with the Happy Skin sponge and OMG such revelation! And their showroom in NYC was millennial pink heaven, too!
Aesop Herbal Deodorant, my HG deodorant since I switched to herbal deo earlier this year! I initially tried some from Alba and it was just ok. This one is liquid and comes in a spray bottle so it works very well instead of a sticky roll on. Plus points that it's sage-fragranced and was called by Vogue as the most chic smell to ever use for the arm pits.
Phew. That makes up my 2017 favorites and discoveries. I hope you've had a great year in beauty, looking forward to more next year.
