The Kikay Kit

Perennial in a girl's purse is that sacred place where no man would dare to go: The Kikay Kit. One can never really know what to find in there {sharp objects notwithstanding}. If a man's survivor items are contained in the glove compartment of his car, or his car's trunk, the women's ammo are right there, in that little compartment of her bag also known as the Kikay Kit.

That is how I see my kit, really. It's the thing I whip out before every meeting, or event or dinner I go to. Despite not really needing a lot of gunk to apply on my face during the day, I never know when I'd need a deep red lipstick, a pimple corrector, or a highlighter for when I look Haggardo Versoza.

So here I am, sharing with you my version of the Swiss knife, things that I turn to when I have to do something, or in need to achieve something, or when I want something. Any girl would know what I mean.

My Kit is a green and white number I got from Beauty Bar. It has a bit of smudge when I bought it so I badgered the SA to give me a discount, which she eventually did. <3  I like that I can separate my tools, especially the pencils and lipsticks, which can get scratched when bumped with into the other items in the bag.

The Contents:

  1. Celeteque DermoScientce+ Acne Spot Corrector Gel. Nothing like a zit in the right places to ruin your day. Thank you Unilab for this!
  2. shu uemura Tara Cabullo palette. Most days, I come to work with only eyeliner and if I suddenly have to, I pat a few of the gold eyeshadow from shu and I look more dressy than having none at all, or than having to spend more than 15 minutes doing my eyes.
  3. Cover Girl Lip Perfection in Hot Passion and Dazzle. I have a confession to make: I am in love with the new lipsticks from Cover Girl. Dazzle has been my everyday lipstick for weeks now and Hot amps the ante when I feel brazen enough for red lipstick.
  4. MAC Studio Fix Concealer in NC30 and MAC Studio Fix Foundation in NC30. Blotchy skin and zits can appear during the day and I only trust this concealer to cover all my skin problems.
  5. Charm Travel Pro V3 Angled Brush. For my blushing needs, I go to this <3
  6. Charm Luxe Kabuki Brush. For foundation and finishing powder needs, this is my BFF.
  7. MAC I Get No Kick Eye Kohl. I want a kick in my normal makeup, sometimes.
  8. Lancome Definicils Mascara in Black for eyelash volumizing needs.
  9. Maybelline Volum' Express Cat Eyes Mascara. {Why I need two mascaras fail me}
  10. The Body Shop Lightening Touch. Perfect for those days when you suddenly have to pose in front of the camera because it's ID-picture taking day and the camera flash is unforgiving and the concealers will not be enough. I use this on the prominent areas of my face and under the eyes to lessen the prominence of eye bags. And it works!
  11. Maybelline Impact Express Smooth Felt Liner. I don't think I can ever live without felt eyeliners. Ever.
  12. Tweezers. To tweeze stray eye brow hair, or hi jack a plane. I'm kidding.
  13. Sally Hansen Soothing Lip Balm. Been using this brand for more than three years now and the moisture this product gives is amazing.
  14. Garnier Eye Roll. The skin beneath my eyes usually get dry as the weather changes and am usually reaching out for this to relieve it, plus, to ease the baggagery.
  15. Cover Girl Instant Cheekbones. I love the warm colors do not look fake on me and that shimmers make me glow. :D
  16. MAC Girl Boy Eyebrow Gel. I recently introduced this product to two colleagues and boy, are they convinced that once you go MAC, you can't go back.
  17. L'oreal Super Blendable Two Way Foundation. I alter this with MAC Studio Fix.

What's on your kikay kit?
