You Come Too

Stumbled upon from this page.
Again & again
the two of us walk out together
under the ancient trees, lie down again and again
among the flowers
face to face with the sky
Here I love you.
In the dark pines the wind disentangles itself.
The moon glows like phosphorous on the vagrant waters
Days, all one kind, go chasing each other.
Tomorrow we will only give them
a leaf of the tree of our love, a leaf
which will fall on the earth
like if it had been made by our lips
like a kiss which falls
from our invincible heights
to show the fire and the tenderness
of a true love.
Then I see you,
Standing under a spire of pale blue larkspur,
With a basket of roses on your arm.
You are cool, like silver,
And you smile.
The Canterbury bells are playing little tunes
Under the summer roses
When the flagrant crimson
Lurks in the dusk
Of the wild red leaves,
Love, with little hands,
Comes and touches you
With a thousand memories,
And asks you
Beautiful, unanswerable questions .
The moon turns its clockwork dream.
The biggest stars look at me with your eyes .
And as I love you, the pines in the wind
want to sing your name with their leaves of wire.
In that book which is my memory
On the first page
That is the Chapter when
I first met you
Appear the words :
Here begins a new life.
Understand, I’ll slip quietly
away from the noisy crowd
when I see the pale
stars rising, blooming, over the oaks.
I’ll pursue solitary pathways
through the pale twilit meadows,
with only this one dream :
You come too.
