Confessions of a Shopaholic The Movie

>> Sunday, September 28, 2008

Yes, I actually screamed while watching the trailer. I knew this was gonna happen! Yay! My favorite chick lit of all time is now a movie, starring, no less than my favorite rom-com actress Isla Fisher.

IMDB says: Based on the book by Sophie Kinsella. Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) is 25 year olds, lives with her best friend Suze (Krysten Ritter) in Suze's flat (paying her friend rent that is well below market value), in a trendy part of town, has a very boring job writing for a financial magazine, and she has a shopping addiction, for which her crap job doesn't pay enough. Her bills are piling up, so she tries cutting back (complete fiasco), then she tries making more money (another fiasco). Eventually, Becky discovers a story that she is truly invested in. Exposing the story gets the attention of a (male, need I say more?) colleague that she hasn't quite figured out yet. Some drama ensues as she snags the (EXTREMELY hot) guy, and she attempts to pay off her ever-growing debt.

I can't wait!! Srsly, I haven't lusted for a movie this much since SATC so I'm pretty sure I'm one of the first people to line up in cinemas come 2009.

When I watched though from the review, I sensed that it was more American-ized than Brit (in the book, Rebecca Bloomwood is a Londoner), much like how Bridget Jones was American-ized as well. I am not sad about it, though, because IMO, Kinsella's books are the only proof that British have sense of humor. Besides, Becky is not a super fan of European brands like Gucci (as shown in the trailer). I clearly remember she swears by British brands like Denny & George, Jasper Conran and Debenhams.

Oh well. I am still very much excited!

Purple Lovin'

>> Thursday, September 25, 2008

Last week, I invited fellow blogger Brigitte to be the MuA for a photoshoot of our company's photography club. Not only was she a fantastic artist (I never knew purples would ever work on me :D ) and she made that happen. Being the pretty girl she is, our club's photogs asked her to model as well. Here's a peek of how I looked that night.

Photography by: Roy Galve

Aside from being beautified by Brigitte, my photo appears as well on her blog:

Thanks so much Jheng for making me look good in purples! :P

What's in my bag?

>> Saturday, September 20, 2008

Some people wonder what I keep inside my gargantuan Souk bag. Well, I do lug a lot of stuff everyday:

1. Bag from Souk, approximately PhP: 2,500

2. Make-up case (which contents are entirely a different story) from Fasio, a freebie

3. Wallet , Bass & Co.

4. Turquoise Coin Purse, SM Department Store, approximately PhP 75

5. Red Kenneth Cole Reaction Camera Case

6. iPod Nano Video (8GB) 3rd generation in blue

7. Nokia 6300

8. Pillbox

9. Shades from People Are People

10. Books: Blink by Malcolm Gladwell and The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella

11. Oil blotter: Clean and Clear Pink Grapefruit variant

Hmm. Now I know why I'm developing back strains!
